Back on an Aeroplane
17th of June, 2019After a relapse 15 years ago that left service user, Céline, a full-time wheelchair user, she didn’t think she would ever get on an aeroplane again. For someone who spent much time travelling the world and enjoying the sights and culture she found this was a great disappointment. However, this year, with the support of her team, Céline got her passport back out, travelled, in the early hours of the morning, to Manchester Airport and soared off to the beautiful city of Porto, Portugal.
The week-long trip was filled with sunshine, street art tours, fantastic meals, port tasting, beach picnics, boat trips and finished off with a ride on the Porto eye to take in one last look at the beautiful scenery before heading home, ready to plan the next adventure.
The whole trip was filmed by the team supporting Céline and with the help of her friend the trip was turned into a film for her to enjoy at home time and time again.
